Apple May Launch a 5G iPad in 2021; New iPad With Better Antenna Tech in 2020

While a lot of talk has been passed around regarding a 5G iPhone arriving next year, a similarly-equipped iPad has been missing from the rotation. But that changes today, as one analyst predicts Apple could be preparing a launch in 2021.

It is not surprising that the iPhone lineup will be the first to offer 5G from Apple, but that doesn’t mean the cellular-enabled iPad will miss out on the fun. According to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning on launching a 5G-enabled iPad model in 2021. To get there, Apple needs to lay the groundwork in 2020, though.

Kuo expects Apple will use an “LCP Soft Board” in the next-generation iPad Pro, the first time the company has done such a thing. That model is expected to start mass production sometime between the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter of next year. The models will retain the 11- and 12.9-inch display sizes that are currently on the market.

That aforementioned LCP Soft Board will make it a flexible piece within the new iPad models, allowing it to connect components together in a different way than the rigid boards currently used. This is Apple’s first step to improve the overall antenna technology in the cellular iPad Pro, but it will also lay down the path to a 5G iPad Pro in 2021.

Nothing is confirmed just yet. And Apple’s plans could certainly change before mass production kicks off for this particular iPad. But a 2021 launch makes sense, with iPhone kicking off the 5G love in 2020.

How To Save Data on iPhone 2019

How To Save Data on iPhone
1. Turn Off WiFi Assist

WiFi Assist is one of the great features introduced by Apple in iOS 9. However, many users have complained that consumes a lot of cellular or mobile data as it automatically uses your cellular data if you have a poor Wi-Fi connection. The feature is used by apps which include Safari, Music, Maps, Mail, and others.

If you think that WiFi Assist is using a lot of mobile data you can turn it off.

Launch the Settings app on iPhone, iPad.

Now, Tap “Cellular”.

Tap the toggle switch to set it to “Off” by scrolling down to the bottom of the screen.

2. Find iPhone Data Usage

To control your iPhone cellular data usage you need to know how much data you are consuming in a month. You can find the amount of data usage on iPhone by going to the Settings >> Cellular >> Cellular data usage. Now, scroll down to the bottom of your screen and tap on “Reset Statistics”. It is a good practice to Reset Statistics when your network is resetting data allowance to keep a track on iPhone data usage.

Avoid Data Roaming Charges While Traveling Abroad

3. Restrict Specific Apps Using Cellular Data On iPhone

To avoid running higher data charges when on a limited data it is better to disable specific apps from accessing the Internet using cellular data on your iPhone. To do so:

Go to the Settings App on your iPhone scroll down to the Apps and tap on the app for which you want to restrict using the cellular data on iPhone.

4. Stop Background App Refresh

Background app refresh automatically updates your apps in the background using your cellular data and hence stopping background app refresh can help you in saving some amount of data on iPhone.

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap on General.

Tap on Background App Refresh. Toggle it Off.

5. Turn Off Autoplay Video In Facebook and Instagram

Facebook consumes a lot of cellular data on iPhone, the new feature in its iOS app automatically play videos for users while they scroll through the news feed even if they are not connected to the Wi-Fi. You can change the settings of this feature in the Facebook app of your iPhone.

Launch Facebook App on your iPhone and go to the More tab. Scroll down and tap on Settings and Privacy >> Settings >> Videos and Photos >> Autoplay and then you can select to Autoplay videos on Wi-Fi Only or Never Autoplay Videos.

In the Instagram app to turn off video streaming, head over to your Profile tab >> tap on Gear icon >> Cellular Data Use >> Use Less Data.

6. Turn Off Facetime, iCloud Drive, And iTunes From Using Cellular Data

Facetime on the iPhone is great, but it consumes a lot of data when you are not connected to a Wi-Fi network. Head over to the Settings >> Cellular and then scroll down to find Facetime and switch it off for cellular data. However, once you turn off Facetime using the cellular data no one will be able to connect you via Facetime.

To avoid running out of data on iPhone, don’t use iCloud Drive when not connected to a Wi-Fi. Turn it off by going to Settings >> iCloud >> iCloud Drive.

For iTunes also you can turn off the use of cellular data. Go to the Settings >> iTunes >> toggle Cellular Data switch to off.

7. Turn Off Cellular Data

Lastly when you are running out of data for the month and don’t want to spend more, turn off cellular data. Turning off cellular data will restrict all data over Wi-Fi.

4 Tips to Fix iOS 11.3 Cannot Be Downloaded OTA

4 Tips to Fix iOS 11.3 Cannot Be Downloaded OTA

1. Check Network Connection

2. Wait for a While

3. Force Restart iPhone

4. Using iTunes to Update iPhone

1. Check Network Connection

iOS 11.3 cannot be downloaded over the air if you have a poor or unstable internet connection. This issue can be easily self-resolved. You just need to check whether you have strong and stable Wi-Fi connection or not. If you are using a cellular network instead, make sure your device gets good network coverage. It is however advisable to download iOS 11.3 using a Wi-Fi.

Another tip is to try restarting your router if iOS 11.3 cannot be downloaded OTA. Having done this, turn off the Wi-Fi on your iPhone and turn it ON again after a few seconds. The issue should be resolved now if it occurred due to a poor network connection.

2. Wait for a While

A busy server is one of the many reasons why iOS 11.3 isn't downloading OTA. This is because the Apple server is loaded by receiving a lot of update requests at the same time. There are millions of other users who start downloading just like you whenever they get the news of the newest software. For a flawless downloading experience, it is advisable to wait for a couple of hours before you retry downloading again.
3. Force Restart iPhone

Force restarting your iPhone is also a good alternative when iOS 11.3 cannot be downloaded OTA. The method varies for different models of iPhone. For your ease, we have mentioned the procedure for different models-

iPhone 6 and earlier models:

The 'Power' button and the 'Home' button should be pressed at the same time. You can release the buttons when the screen turns black and the Apple logo is displayed on the screen after a while.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus:

For these phones, you need to press the 'Power' + 'Volume Down' simultaneously for a minimum of 10 seconds till the Apple logo is displayed.

iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X:

These 3 models have a slightly different procedure for force restarting. You need to first press and release the 'Volume Up' button immediately. The same has to be done with the 'Volume Down' button. After this, press the 'Power' button, present at the right side for these models. You need to hold it till the Apple logo appears on your screen.

4. Use iTunes to Update iPhone

If iOS 11.3 cannot be downloaded OTA, you can also try updating your iPhone by using iTunes. But do make sure that you take a backup of your phone before that. The following steps shall guide you with the process of updating via iTunes.

On your computer install iTunes and open it.

Use a USB cable and connect your iPhone to your computer.

From the interface now appearing on your screen, choose your device and then move to 'Summary'.

Now, you should select 'Check for Update'. Your device may be seeking your permission to confirm it. To update your phone to the latest firmware version, you have to positively confirm the request.

If you lost videos from iOS Camerall Roll which are nowhere to download again, you can use Gihosoft iPhone Data Recovery to get back deleted videos from iOS device including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

How to Unlock A Disabled iPhone

How to Unlock A Disabled iPhone

Has it ever happened that you get a “iPhone is disabled. Connect to iTunes” message, and have no clue as to how or why that happened? In some cases, it may get disabled for a bit and will prompt you to try again after a few minutes. In other cases, it may get disabled and wouldn’t unlock unless you fix the issue. This mostly happens as a result of entering an incorrect passcode.

If it gets stolen, you’re out of luck because the thief would either just trade the parts for some money or simply erase it to re-enable the device. However, if you’re lucky enough to get away with an accidental disablement, we have a few fixes for you to get your phone to start working again.

But before that, let’s take a glance at some of the common reasons that could disable an iPhone.

How Did Your iPhone Get Disabled?

Your phone requires you to either use Touch ID or enter a passcode in order to unlock it for security purposes. In case you forget your passcode and haven’t set up Touch ID or don’t have an iPhone with that feature, your iPhone will get disabled upon a wrong passcode attempt.

Here’s a breakdown on the number of incorrect passcode attempts that cause an iPhone to get disabled along with the time period until you can try unlocking it again:

1-4 subsequent wrong passcode attempts – phone will not be disabled

5 subsequent wrong passcode attempts – phone is disabled, try again in 1 minute

7 subsequent wrong passcode attempts – phone is disabled, try again after 5 minutes

8 subsequent wrong passcode attempts – phone is disabled, try again in 15 minutes

9 subsequent wrong passcode attempts – phone is disabled, try again in 60 minutes

10 subsequent wrong passcode attempts – phone is disabled, connect to iTunes (or your device will be erased if the self-destruct mode is enabled)

Usually, if you yourself have entered an incorrect passcode by mistake, you should be able to rectify it within 1-4 attempts; so that is not an issue. However, if you have forgotten your passcode completely and make a few more incorrect passcode entries, you’ll have to wait for a few minutes to an hour before you can try to unlock it again; and that is quite inconvenient. The worst is if you make 10 wrong passcode entries in a row because that will cause your phone to get disabled without allowing you to try again later.

Didn’t Try to Unlock Your Phone?

It is quite possible that you yourself haven’t tried to unlock your phone. Then the question is, who did it? Or, how did it happen? Well, majority of the times, an iPhone gets disabled permanently in case of an accidental unlocking attempt. Here are a few common instances:

Family & Friends: Yes! You may have a snooper in your own clan and you don’t even know it. We don’t mean to creep you out but oftentimes, your parents or siblings, or even other relatives might be curious to check out what’s on your phone. Could be your texts, your photos, whatever feeds their interest. What they may not know is that your iPhone only allows a certain number of wrong passcode attempt until it notifies you that it has been disabled. Lucky for you that this can be fixed, but too bad for them. This is the most common reason behind getting your iPhone disabled.

Butt Disable: Whether you call it a pocket disable or butt disable, what it basically means is that your phone accidentally swipes to unlock and enters an incorrect passcode. Maybe you tend to keep your phone in your back or front pockets, or even in your jacket. This is one of the most common occurrences!

Little Ones: Whether you’re a parent with kids or have a younger sibling, you’d know how curious your little ones get with gadgets. They often fidget with phones, trying to play games or just explore your device. Its quite likely that the kids have tried to unlock your iPhone and couldn’t guess the right passcode, leading to disablement.

So what do you do then? Keep reading to see which solution works the best for you.

How to Unlock Your Disabled iPhone?

You’re probably wondering if there was a way to simply unlock your phone after it has been disabled (10 incorrect passcode attempts). We’re sorry to break it to you but there’s absolutely no way to do that. Even an Apple store executive wouldn’t be able to help you.

But, what you can do is follow the steps mentioned below to get access to your phone. This is applicable only if you remember your passcode and your iPhone has been disabled, asking you to “connect to iTunes”.

1. Back up & Restore Your iPhone using iTunes

Plug your phone (using the USB cable) into a computer that you have used to sync your phone with in the past.

Launch iTunes

Click on your iPhone device and select “Summary” from the menu to the left of your screen.

Hit the “Back Up” button to create a backup of all your data on iTunes.

Then, select “Restore iPhone” and follow the instructions as shown on your screen.

Once the process is complete, your iPhone will be as good as new, restored as a new phone.

The iOS Setup assistant will prompt you to set up your newly restored phone. Make sure that you choose “Restore from iTunes Backup” Then, select your device from iTunes and click on the most recent backup.

2. Using the DFU Mode for Restoring phone:

Now, if you have never synced your iPhone with iTunes, you’ll run into a few issues. This is because your phone has a passcode and iTunes will need the same in order to connect. In that case, you can try this method. This solution is simple, always works, and is one that I personally prefer.

DFU, or Device Firmware Update, is an abysmal way of restoring your phone. Follow the steps to put your iPhone in the DFU mode:

Connect your phone to the computer and launch iTunes (you can leave it switched on or off).

Press & hold the power button together with the Home button (volume down button if you have an iPhone 7).

Make sure that you count up to 8 seconds. Then, release the power (sleep/wake) button, while holding on to the home/volume down button. Do this until you see the message, “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode”.

Now, release the home/volume down button. You’ll know that the process was successful if your phone’s display turns black. Or else, you might have to try again.

Finally, restore your phone using iTunes.

If you own an iPhone 8 or above, follow the steps mentioned below:

Press and immediately release the Volume up button. Then, press and immediately let go off the volume down button.

Press and hold the side button until you get a black display.

Press and hold the volume down button together with the side button.

Count to 5 seconds, and let go off the side button while holding the volume down button until you see your iPhone device in iTunes.

Once you see it, release the volume button as quickly as possible.

For this to work, timing is of essence. Don’t hold onto the volume down button for too long.

3. Erase iPhone via iCloud:

If you do not remember your iPhone passcode, you will have no option but to erase your device and set it up as new. You will lose all your data, unless you backed it up before your phone was disabled. At least that’s better than not having an access to your phone at all!

If your phone was connected to your iCloud account and the “Find my iPhone” was enabled before your phone got disabled, you can use it to erase your device. Here’s what you need to do –

Setting Up Your iPhone:

Whether you used iTunes to restore your phone or erased it via iCloud, the final step is to set up your device from the scratch. However, the procedure will vary depending upon whether you had an iTunes backup, iCloud backup, or none at all. So once you get a “Set up” screen on your phone, follow the steps mentioned below –

iTunes Backup – As stated earlier, if you have an iTunes Backup, ensure that you select “Restore from iTunes Backup” while setting up your phone.

iCloud Backup –Disconnect your phone from the computer and select “Restore from iCloud Backup” while setting up your phone.

No Backup – Set up your phone while it is disconnected from your computer (iTunes).

And Voila! Your phone has been unlocked!

Final Thoughts:

Keep visiting our blog Dreamy Tricks to get latest tech updates. We truly hope that this article has helped you to have your iPhone up and running once again. Make sure that you select a solution that is best suited for you depending upon whether you remember your passcode and have backed up your data. In any case, you’ll basically need to restore or erase your iPhone.

If you wish to avoid this situation in future, remember to –

Set up Touch ID if you own 5s and up. This way, you wouldn’t have to keep trying different passcode combinations. This is especially useful if you’re prone to forgetting your passcode.

Try not to enter an incorrect passcode too many times in a row. Be patient and wait before you try to unlock again.

Be more careful about your phone around kids or people who you think are capable of snooping around.

Avoid sitting with your phone in the pocket.

Lastly, always take back ups of your data using iTunes, on a regular basis.
